Comprehensive Chronic Ulcer Management Program
The institution has a group of health professionals, duly trained in the management of chronic ulcer healing, who give compliance and applicability through continuing research protocols.
In addition, the outpatient and family service of healing chronic ulcers is available to hansen patients, with the appropriate health personnel, with human quality to carry out this activity.
The Institution advances research protocols in chronic ulcers to patients with leprosy which starts with clinical experience and evidence in daily practice in the management, treatment and recovery of the skin of these patients.
The physiotherapy service provides comprehensive and free service to all patients with leprosy as a complementary treatment of the scheme managed within the leprosy program are:
Prevention of disability: Skin self-care programs, exercises to prevent disability, support in the use of technical aids (wheelchair, crutches, cane) and orthosis and prosthesis training.
Physical and respiratory rehabilitation: Management of peripheral nerve injuries, osteomuscular injuries, respiratory problems among others.
The office of the Lepra Program, through contact through dialogue with the patient, guides, trains, advises, informs and accompanies the process of psychosocial rehabilitation, activity carried out from the moment of the patient's admission to the institution and during his stay in the hospital. hostel.
